DATES: Campers arrive Sunday, June 22 , and the program concludes with potluck supper, exhibits, drama and musical revue on Thursday, July 3rd. Campers will go home Friday, June 27th and return for the second week of camp on Sunday, June 29th. LOCATION: Wallingford Lodge is on Elfin Lake, just outside the village of Wallingford. Campers will sleep on cots in the lodge building, on the large screened porch, and in our excellent four-person tents on the grassy lawns. SWIMMING: Trained and experienced swimming supervision is provided by Gail McGann, Lifeguard and WSI-certified swim instructor for many summer swim programs. COST: The actual cost of the program for each camper is $780.00. An allocation from The Hayes Foundation lets the program be offered at a cost of $530.00 for each camper. For Rutland County applicants whose family’s financial need makes full payment a genuine hardship, a portion of the cost will be waived, as indicated on the application form. Motivated and serious students should not be discouraged from applying due to limited financial ability. Please note: Our daily schedule includes an evening program. If campers are more comfortable as “day participants,” we ask that parents pick them up at 8 p.m. and return them to camp in the morning by 8:15 a.m. The tuition rate includes the evening meal and program, and is the same for overnight and day campers. APPLICATION AND SELECTION: Approximately 40 applicants will be selected by committee from their written applications, which must be received by April 7. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by April 14. EARLY ACCEPTANCE: Applicants may qualify for early acceptance if they apply by March 13. Early applicants will be notified by March 22.
