Summerweek Camps -- (jump to this years camp page "The Power of Puppets " )

Our annual Hayes SUMMERWEEK programs are theme-based camps held for two weeks in late June through early July on Elfin Lake in Wallingford.  Bright motivated students apply in early Spring, and the written applications are read by an admissions committee which selects 40-45 applicants.  The SUMMERWEEK camps are overnight programs, the cost is moderate.  Scholarship aid is available to Rutland County residents where needed, though students from beyond Rutland County are also welcome to apply.Science, history, music, math, language and culture—each year a different and intriguing topic:

Greek mythology and drama,
      Solar energy,
Geology (with cave exploration, mines and quarries, and aerial overflights),
              Ancient Mayan civilization,
                   Benedict Arnold’s Lake Champlain battles,
Shakespeare, with live and puppet performances,
                           Japanese culture,
Vermont history (Thomas Jefferson and James Madison’s Green Mountain “vacation”
