Summer Study Grants The Hayes Foundation’s SUMMER STUDY grants are awarded in order to assist highly capable students attend intensive and selective programs of summer study. Grant amounts vary widely according to program cost, family need, and the strength of the written application. Programs and activities for which grants are requested should be rigorous learning experiences requiring study and performance. and programs should be willing to provide written evaluations of participants’ achievement in the program. The Board considers all grant requests together, after the May deadline. First priority is given to students who have completed one or more Hayes SUMMERWEEK programs. Some programs which Hayes grantees have attended in recent years are: The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY) summer programs Concordia Language Villages summer camp programs on Minnesota lakes Putney Summer School Programs in Vermont The Phillips Exeter Academy Summer School Village Harmony Camps Kinhaven Music School The Great Books Summer Program at Amherst College, Massachusetts Also useful for locating good summer learning programs for capable students |
